Industrial version of Kundaim

          Industries of Kundaim:

Kundai is also famous for industrial estate.Actually some development that has taken place in Kundaim is due to the industries that are developed .Like in the past years Kundiam was just a  village which had green forest, fields but now with the development everything is disappearing. In Kundiam there are many industries which are having a  large production. Some of these are Kundil industries  ltd,Cadilla ltd ,colgate palmolive, crompton greaves. Local industries are also there . I tried to interview an local lady entreprenuer  who is  owning  a  unit of  bottle cap prodution , she told me that she had to invest an amount to start the unit and she got some subsidies from government while taking loan for the investment and now her yearly profits are very good.Actually starting a industry can be profitable but sometimes if there are some mistakes in the production or some failure in marketing then it becomes a very big problem.Due to Kundaim industrial estate there is a very big opportunity for people that is employment ,social development and overall growth of the area and also revenue generating to the state .Many locals are employed in these industries. But there are also many other people coming from other states just for employment in these industries . These  industries are generating employment , revenue that is ablsolutely true but they are also creating pollution in Kundaim village.

Kundaim the undiscovered village of Goa

Kundiam is a village famous for  its green fields ,back waters ,cashew nut mountains ,other plantations and not to forget also for its famous Navdurga temple.Basically the navdurga temple is a very beautiful temple .It has beautiful architecture .This temple is beautifully decorated  especially during navratri .
This godess also has importance during ganesh chaturthi that is the paddy used for ganesh puja in every house in Kundaim is taken from  this temple with the blessings of goddess Shri Navdurga. In this temple special dholak is kept which is played during aarti and special occassions. But now due to modern technology they use electronic drums  There is also a pond  near the temple where lighted lamps are floated during ganesh chaturthi and navratri by the village ladies as an respect to goddess Navdurga.

The Christian Art Museum, the first and only one of its kind in Asia and was earlier located at the famous Rachol Seminary at Rachol near the town on Margao.
This fabulous museum is now relocated within the precincts of the convent of Santa Monica, Old Goa, in the vicinity of the Old Goa world heritage monuments. The museum houses some of the best specimens of Goa´s distinctive and exquisitely crafted church art. In the early days of Portuguese colonization, most statues to be installed in churches were brought by ship from Portugal.
These were supplemented by images, furnishings and decorations crafted by local Hindu artisans who were roped in to keep up with the demand as church building activity of the Portuguese accelerated.
